Bassoon Bio


Sean Fenlon received his Bachelor of Music degree from Towson University in 1990. He went on to earn his Master of Music degree (1993) and Doctorate of Music (2002) from prestigious Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University where he was awarded an orchestral fellowship. While attending Towson University, he was a two-time winner of the Peggy & Yale Gordon Concerto Competition. While attending The Peabody Institute, Sean performed as principal bassoonist with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, Peabody Wind Ensemble, Peabody Camerata, and numerous chamber ensembles. In 1994, Sean became the first bassoonist to perform a concerto with the Gettysburg Symphony Orchestra. His teachers have included Linda Harwell, Phillip Kolker, and Dr. H. Gene Griswold. Sean has also taught bassoon at Harford Community College and Electronic & Computer Music at Howard Community College.
