Part 1: Privacy Policy
1. What SPF YouTuber is
SPF YouTuber is a private, single-user software application. Sean Fenlon built it to manage his own YouTube channels. It runs on a private computer operated for Sean, with AI assistant software that acts only on his behalf and under his instructions. It is not offered to the public. Its only user is the owner of the YouTube channels it is authorized to manage.
2. SPF YouTuber uses YouTube API Services
SPF YouTuber uses YouTube API Services, specifically the YouTube Data API v3, the YouTube Analytics API and the YouTube Reporting API, to manage the authorizing user’s own YouTube channels.
By using SPF YouTuber, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
YouTube and Google handle data under the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy (also at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy)
3. Agreement to this policy
You must agree to this Privacy Policy and these Terms before you use SPF YouTuber’s features. That means before you grant it access to any YouTube channel. Granting access through Google’s consent screen after reading this page counts as that agreement. If SPF YouTuber starts to access, collect or use data in a way this policy does not describe, it will ask you to accept the updated policy first.
4. What SPF YouTuber accesses
With your permission, granted through Google’s OAuth consent screen once per channel, SPF YouTuber requests these permissions and nothing more:
| Permission (OAuth scope) | What it is used for |
|---|---|
youtube.upload |
Uploading videos you have approved to your channel. |
youtube.force-ssl |
Managing your channel’s videos, metadata, thumbnails, captions, playlists and comments. Every action that is published to YouTube happens only after your express approval. |
yt-analytics.readonly |
Reading analytics reports for your own channel (for example views, watch time, impressions and traffic sources). |
SPF YouTuber never asks for, collects or stores your Google or YouTube password or any other information you enter during Google sign-in.
5. What SPF YouTuber collects and stores
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| OAuth tokens (access and refresh tokens) for each channel you authorize | To act on the channels you authorized | Until you revoke access, or until the token stops working. Then the token is deleted. |
| Channel identifiers (channel ID, title, handle) | To confirm which channel each action applies to | Refreshed or deleted within 30 days |
| Metadata for your own videos, playlists and captions (titles, descriptions, tags, privacy status, publish times, IDs) | To prepare, check and confirm the uploads and edits you approve | Refreshed or deleted within 30 days |
| Aggregate channel and video analytics (for example views, average view duration, click-through rate, impressions, traffic-source totals) | To give you performance summaries for your own videos | Refreshed or deleted within 30 days. Authorization is re-checked at least every 30 days. |
| Comments on your own videos (comment text, the commenter’s public display name, comment IDs) | To draft suggested replies for your review. No reply is posted unless you approve its exact text. | Refreshed or deleted within 30 days |
| An action log (what was done, when, and the API request reference) | To keep a record of your approvals and of each action taken | 30 days, with no API data kept longer than 30 days without being refreshed |
SPF YouTuber does not:
– store analytics about individual viewers;
– download or keep copies of YouTube audiovisual content other than your own source files;
– place cookies or similar technology on your device or browser, or read information from it;
– let third parties serve content or advertising.
6. How the data is used and shared
- Data is used only to manage the channels you authorized: uploading, scheduling, editing metadata, setting thumbnails, captions and playlists, drafting comment replies, and reporting analytics to you.
- SPF YouTuber does not sell, rent or trade any data. It does not use data for advertising. It does not use data for any purpose not described here.
- Data is visible only to you, the authorizing user, and to software agents operating solely on your behalf that you have expressly approved. Those are the AI assistant agents running on Grok Bot’s infrastructure for you. The data is processed on that infrastructure to perform the tasks above.
- Data is not shared with any other party, except YouTube and Google (as part of using YouTube API Services) or where the law requires it.
- Data does not leave the private computer described above, except in summaries you receive.
7. Every action needs your approval
Before SPF YouTuber inserts, updates or deletes anything on YouTube on your behalf, it tells you what will happen and on which channel, and it needs your express approval. This covers uploads, privacy status (public, private or unlisted), scheduled publish times, titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, captions, playlists and comments. SPF YouTuber never changes a video’s privacy setting, and never adds text to what you approved, without your express instruction.
8. Security
- Tokens and credentials are stored in a protected secret store.
- They are never displayed, printed or sent in messages.
- All communication with Google uses industry-standard encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS).
- Access to the computer running SPF YouTuber is limited to you and agents acting on your behalf.
9. How to revoke access
You can revoke SPF YouTuber’s access to your YouTube data at any time, in either of two ways:
– Through Google: go to your Google Account security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions, select SPF YouTuber and remove its access.
– Through SPF YouTuber: email [email protected] (or tell the agent directly) that you want access revoked. SPF YouTuber then revokes its tokens with Google straight away.
After you revoke access, all data SPF YouTuber obtained under that access is deleted as soon as possible:
– within 7 days if you revoked through SPF YouTuber;
– no later than 30 days if you revoked through Google’s page, because SPF YouTuber regularly checks whether its tokens are still valid.
10. How to delete stored data
- You can ask for deletion of the data SPF YouTuber has stored about you or your channels at any time by emailing [email protected].
- Your data is deleted as soon as possible and within 7 days of your request.
- Deleting data stored by SPF YouTuber does not affect any data stored by YouTube. To delete videos, comments or other content on YouTube itself, use YouTube (for example YouTube Studio) or another authorized app that supports deleting that data.
- Separately from any request, SPF YouTuber deletes or refreshes stored YouTube API data at least every 30 days.
11. Children
SPF YouTuber is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. If a change covers new kinds of data or new uses, SPF YouTuber will ask you to accept the updated policy before going further.
13. Contact
For questions or complaints about SPF YouTuber’s privacy practices, contact Sean Fenlon at [email protected].
